Ellie Goulding (born Elena Jane Goulding born on December 30, 1986 in Hereford, England) is an English musician and singer. The public was captivated in 2010 through her hits "Starry Eyed" and "Guns and Horses," British vocalist Ellie Goulding quickly climbed to the top of the charts due to her enthralling electronic pop style. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Her unique soprano sibilance and knack for composing engaging, but emotionally honest songs, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap has a place at the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream music and arty, independent-minded pop.Goulding soon graduated from blogs to print media, garnering praise from mainstream publications like The Guardian and fielding offers from record labels.
