Niykee who's had many a hectic few years which included being selected by Snoop to sing with him on The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine despite this. Her popularity is constant to producers just beginning their careers. Many of the beats she receives spark song ideas. I'll know if a beat's good after the first five seconds. Then I'll have a song in my mind and begin writing immediately she says. My guitar is set up on the porch, and I just let my words flow. The process usually takes about thirty minutes. Niykee says that as she grows as a lyricist, the painful memories of her youth serve as inspiration. "Even in the absence of writing about my life directly the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood experiences are integrated in my lyrics," she says. It influences my music and provides it with a deeper significance, something I consider very important. I want to be able to hear my music 20 years from now and feel proud of the things I've written.
