Her time working at The Washington Post was spent covering several Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis, football and basketball. In 2004, Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a period of nine years where she won 2 Emmy Awards and appeared on some of the network's most watched programs, like SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. Nichols also worked on behalf of TNT on NBA broadcasts during the playoffs and broadcasts of the All-Star games. Nichols has also been employed by TBS reporting as an anchor who covers baseball and golf coverage. CBS broadcasted the Final Four. Only the second woman has been picked from over 200 nominees over the 42-year old history of this award.
